Curfew in Esszone extended
The curfew order of seven districts in the Eastern Sabah Security Zone (Esszone) which ended in May has been extended till July 6. This curfew orders started from 7pm until 5am and the areas effected are Tawau, Semporna, Kunak, Lahad Datu, Kinabatangan, Sandakan and Beluran districts.
During the curfew, Abdul Rashid mentioned that the residents need to stay inside home when the program begins. All this things happened, to ensure the water in the Esszone were not being realised by the armed gunmen which could be dangerous to international researchers and tourists who visiting the resort islands. This curfew order will also monitor the movements and make the chalet operators and fisherman feeling safe throughout this mission. It is because the group from southern Philippines which carried out kidnapping for ransom and the Abu Sayyaf militant group were still trying to sneak into the Esszone waters to commit other cross-border crime.
Other than ensuring the safety and well-being of Sabah residents, this curfew orders will also build up enforcement over movements. Finally, the district police chiefs in the curfew areas will have to give permits to those people who wants to go fishing and emergency situations so that they can review who is coming in and out in that particle areas.
