About KK International Airport

The airport at KK is the second busiest airport of Malaysia. It is also the main gateway to all the Sabahan cities and towns. The airport has two terminals, namely T1 and T2. T1 handles full-service airlines while budget airlines operate through T2. People are advised to make use of shuttle buses plying on the airport to move from one terminal to another since the two are quite far apart. The tickets to these buses can be bought for RM5 from the counters. Both terminals are furnished with an ATM and currency exchange facility but tourists are advised to carry Malaysian Ringgit with them even before arrival. This is because they would need money to be paid for taking a taxi or bus and also because currency exchange at the airport is extremely expensive.

Situated at a distance of about 11 km from the city center, the airport is easy accessible from all parts of the town. Travelers after landing at the airport, desirous of moving to the city center can take airport shuttle buses. These buses take passengers to all parts of the city and the travel is quite comfortable. Another option available with travelers is taxis. This includes private as well as shared taxis that can be conveniently found outside the airport.
